What is better than apple pie? Here is an easy to make version of the French Apple Tart Titan. Scoop some vanilla ice cream on the hot apples and you are in heaven! This is a great way to end a meal. This recipe is taken from my Thanksgiving TV show. Enjoy your special day with the ones you love!
4 Golden delicious apples, peeled, cored and sliced into 1/4-inch rings
2 Tbsp butter, unsalted
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 sheet puff pastry
4 scoops vanilla ice cream
1. Pre heat oven to 430’F.
2. Cut puff pastry into 4 inch squares and bake in oven until golden brown. About 8-10 minutes. It will puff up like a pillow. Remove from tray and cool.
3. In a medium sized nonstick pan, melt butter over high heat. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of sugar evenly across bottom and sauté apples until browned. Flip over and sprinkle with remaining sugar. Cook until soft and caramelized, remove from heat. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon while cooling.
4. To serve, place puff square on plate, spoon on caramelized apples and top with vanilla ice cream.
